This moving-image work interweaves the practices of Olga Mesa, Francisco Ruiz de Infante, LI Ming and Darren Bader — four artists from three continents born in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s — each bringing their own sensibility to critique and ruminate on technological surveillance and mediated communication during COVID-19. In turn, through sustained observation and collaborative reenactment, the film transforms the artists’ distinct approaches into a single cinematic language, one that recasts distance into an instrument of humour and reflection.
