Accompanying LU Junzhou’s exhibition “Writing Liangzhu,” the film follows the artist back to the riverside village where he grew up. Lingering on the gesture and rhythm of his brush, it traces his exploration of Eastern ink art and how he bridges traditional lineages with a contemporary perspective. His reflections on the act of “writing,” and on his own practice, become the thread that opens onto the future of Chinese calligraphy in global contemporary art.
